Baden Baden means ‘bath bath’ derived from the old German language.

It is one of the most famous Spa towns in Germany and many people visit to ‘take the waters’ each year.

It is beautifully located in the Black Forest and wine lands providing endless opportunities for walking and exploring.

Baden Baden holds 3 multi day horse racing meetings, the most famous of which is a week long meeting held at the end of August.

Baden Baden also has one of the most elegant casinos in Europe with a dress code of jackets for men (ties are also preferred but not essential) and smart for ladies.

There is an entrance fee of €5 per person and ID is required.

Not easy as there are no obvious direct flights to Strasbourg and only RyanAir fly to Karlsruhe, both of which are about an hours drive. Potentially the best option is to fly to Frankfurt which is around 1 ½ hours each way.
